About Alessia Franchi

Alessia Franchi is an artist living and working in London. She gained her BA in Fine Art from Central Saint Martins, UAL, in 2016, and is currently undertaking an MA in Fine Art at the Slade School of Art, UCL. Franchi’s practice centres on the contrast between various, predominantly internal states, and moves across mixed media, photography and painting.

Franchi uses a broad range of materials in her work, ranging from paint to metal. Across these textures, she often seeks to expose what she terms “the fight, the clash, the bang” between two opposing elements. The artist visualises these sentiments, displaying and drawing attention to how subjectivity and inner feeling manifest as external battles between people.
