Spirale and Schrödinger’s Dream is a diptych and portrayal of the intimate triangle Giesdorf creates between subject, camera and self. In it, notions of corporeality and sensuality play out, embedded in the forms and objects present in the images.

About Laura Giesdorf

Laura Giesdorf is a multidisciplinary German artist based between London and Berlin. She gained her BA in photography at the Berliner Technische Kunsthochschule, before completing an MA in Contemporary Photography: Practices and Philosophies at Central Saint Martins. Her practice spans photography, video, performance and installation art. Her work has been exhibited internationally, including at the Deichtorhallen, Hamburg, the Goethe-Institute, Hanoi, and Tate Modern, London.

Geisdorf’s work addresses the relevance of the cultural body and gender performance to the formation of identity, often using her own body to unify artist, artwork, subject and object.
